At Bacaro, it’s come as you are. Stay as long as you like. The natural ambiance blends seamlessly with modern Italian food that takes influence from the traditional Venetian bacaro. Recently recommended in MICHELIN Guide 2022.

Bacaro is located on the main floor of Fairmont Pacific, right by the lobby bar. Easy to locate, and plenty of street parking around.Ambiance was nice, however the food was underwhelming at best.My 2 stars are for hospitality of the servers.- Chicken Liver CrostiniCrostini itself was basically a thin cracker, however the liver mousse was a good balance of creamy and rich without leaving a greasy aftertaste.Rating 3/5- Polpette Di FunghiMushroom and ricotta meatballs were average, the aioli was decent - tasted better with the manzo given how dry it was.Rating 2/5- Risotto BiancoThe presentation as you can see from the photo looks unappetizing, it was equally unappetizing to taste. Heavy handed Gorgonzola, faint hints of truffle. The balsamic drizzle on top wasn’t enough to save the dish.Rating 1/5- ManzoTaste and presentation were both lackluster. To put it simply, its a few pieces of beef and onion grilled together and presented alongside green salad. The meat was dry and its not served with any sauce. The hostess brought out some olive oil and balsamic vinegar to compensate.Rating 1/5They have an extensive wine list, my recommendation is to go here for the wine and preferably skip the food.

Third visit since January.Convenient location with a good amount of food menu items and wine list with depth. Wait staff is attentive and never feels intrusive while eating. Each visit has been better than the last.It can get a little loud with the low ceiling, but it adds atmosphere. I prefer to sit earlier in the evening for a quieter meal and more personal service from the staff. The sablefish risotto is to die for.Highly recommended!

We decided to try out this restaurant because it’s Michelin guide reccommended! We ordered the Rosato Spritz, which is house bottled and labelled. Cute touch! It was sweet and easy drinking. Our reservation was for 8:30 and by that time, they were out of their homemade bread and their sirloin. Thankfully they still had a ribeye available. It was my favorite dish of the night! The ribeye is sous vide and finished on the grill which was exquisite - sooo tender. However, we did have to ask for some salt on the side as it was under-seasoned for our liking. In place of the bread & butter, we tries the Saffron Pecorino - very tasty! We enjoyed the accompanying Peach Mostarda - very sweet and strongly flavoured. We were told ahead of time that their Duck Ragu Bigoli is more aldente than we would be used to which was appreciated. It was good but not the favourite of the night. The Fritto Misto was delicious and had great portions! All the assortments of seafood were cooked perfectly. The breading has more of a bite than you would expect.Definitely worth a try! The ambience was dark and intimate.

Food and service are both good. Plate sizes are pretty good, entrees aren't 'large' so you can really order a starter or two per person with your pasta or secondi. However, the place is very loud. It has a low ceiling and hard surface everywhere, so sound was just bouncing off the walls with nowhere to go. I will not recommend it if you have any sound sensitivity.

Food was good! We got the truffle burrata, steak tartar and duck ragu pasta — service was not good. Our server was not very attentive and had poor etiquette with placing cutlery and dishes. Not a single item was placed in front of the right person (we were a group of 6), she spilled a glass of wine on one of our friends with very little apology and no compensation and poured a glass of wine for a friend that specifically said they didn’t want any. At the end of the meal she was talking to another table for 15+ minutes while we waited on the bill and we ended up having to ask another hostess.Won’t be going back but glad we tried!

Although I did not get to experience dining here personally, I just want to give a huge shoutout to the staff at Bacaro (esp Jesse) who fit in a large group of us for lunch today, very last minute, despite being a smaller establishment and being short staffed. Jessie was so friendly and accommodating and I can confirm that the group who did dine here LOVED the food, and despite the restaurant being short staffed, gave rave reviews of their service. 10/10 would recommend, and hope I get the chance to try the food soon! Thanks Jesse!

Hosted a birthday party here for 30 people in the semi private space in the back. Can’t say enough good things about the very hard working GM who was very helpful prior in planning the event including a family style menu. The servers were great and everyone kept praising the service. Thanks for a great experience. Well worth the value.

I shared a fantastic meal with a friend last night at Bacaro. From the service to the food, it was delightful. I especially enjoyed the sbocciare - not a style of pasta I'd ever tried before! If I had to choose something to change, I personally felt that a tiny sprinkling of salt would have elevated the flavours in the caprese salad, but that's an opinion.

The overall menu is a little limited. The night started out not pleasant but the manager, waitress and kitchen staff made everything ok! by night’s end.Sparing you the minor incident - the restaurant ran out of the small size 20oz Ribeye - the manager made right and gave a small discount on a larger 40oz Ribeye. Hindsight if I had more than 2 people like 3-4 I would definitely order 40+ oz. Steak was about 10% fatty and cooked med rare could give Morton’s or Ruth’s Chris a run for their money. Accompanied by carrots with chimichurri sauce and rosemary over crisped potatoes and a small side of Rigatoni with olive oils and Parmesan slices - and sprinkle some salt flakes - ciao!! Delicious!!Thank you Jesse and Morgan for a delightful service and finished with donuts on lemon curd!!I’m visiting from Los Angeles - and I travel a lot. This restaurant is special!!Ciao!!

We had a group birthday party over the weekend and had fantastic service. Since it was such a large party, we had a family style set menu that accommodated all dietary and chosen restrictions in the back part of the restaurant. Service was wonderful from Maisie (apologies on spelling if incorrect). We tried our best to stay in the same seats but she got everything correct upon billing anyways. Since we were staying in the Pac Rim, it was handy to not have to leave the hotel and we were glad we chose to dine there. Thanks again!
